Geocache Description:

PARK AT THE POSTED COORDINATES

The Shroom Hunt series will acquaint you with some of the most common mushrooms found in northern Minnesota. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to ID the mushroom to genus using the photos and text provided.

In many cases you might find the actual mushrooms along this trail. If you happen to find morels, please PM me.

An easily cultivated mushroom that grows on straw or wood chips. It often pops up in mulch beds. The distinctive characteristics are its wine-colored caps and the rough annulus (the ring around the stem). They can be quite large, with caps a foot or larger in diameter.

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.
