Geocache Description:

This cache is part of a series of caches which are placed at or near village halls and community centres. For details and statistics visit the Village Hall Series website Click here

Located at Evelyn Road, Carnegie Hall was opened in 1905 by American Lady Blanche Evans, wife of Sir S T Evans, on a site donated by Mrs Dorothy Coombe Tennant. Sir Samuel and Lady Blanche Evans were instrumental in obtaining a grant from the Carnegie Trust towards its construction.

Today, it still houses a modern library for books and computers plus rooms for hire to the community.

The cache is not at the published coordinates. To find the required numbers look for the war memorial in the grounds. The answers will be found on the side facing the road and are the lines of text below the cross:

A = Number of letters in the 6th word,
B = Number of letters in the 4th word,
C = Number of letters in the 2nd word,
D = Number of letters in the 13th word,
E = Number of letters in the 1st word on the 6th line,
F = Number of letters in the 2nd word on the 6th line.

Substitute the numbers in the following to find the cache coordinates:

N51 39.(C+F)(B-C)(D/E). W3 50.D(B*C)E
