The Puzzle
To find the cache, you will need to solve the SideTracked Warrimoo Jigidi.
Warrimoo
Warrimoo is an Aboriginal word meaning eagle's nest or place of the screaming white bird. Warrimoo is a medium-sized village in the lower Blue Mountains. Elevated 273 metres above sea level.
Warrimoo borders the townships / suburbs of Blaxland, Mount Riverview, Sun Valley and Valley Heights. The suburb is 5 train stops from Penrith in the east. And 11 train stops onto Katoomba in the west. This village has a Citizens Hall a short stroll from the station. With a few shops across Great Western Highway to the south. The public school was built in 1962.
Warrimoo Swimming Pool was once frequently used by locals. Located on the northern side in Long-Angle Gully about half a kilometre from the station, it had proved immensely popular with city visitors throughout the 1920’s seeking bushland escape from the sweat, grime and stink of summer heatwaves. However, the pool had its fair share of problems. When Fitzgeralds Creek did not flow, it could become stagnant and encourage the growth of weeds. When it did rain sand sedimentation built up within it.

Warrimoo Station under construction
Warrimoo Station
In 1898, a railway station platform named Karabar was built in the area to service a developing estate nearby. However it closed before the First World War. A new station was built in 1918 further down the Blue Mountains line, named Warrimoo. The original 1918 station burnt down in a bushfire in the 1950s and was subsequently rebuilt.
On 27 January 1930, a frieght train derailment blocked the 'up line' from Warrimoo to Blaxland. In both directions, eight trains were routed onto the 'down line' (away from Sydney) between Valley Heights and Blaxland in both directions. At 6.25 pm, an excursion train with 2 steam engines, 8 passenger carriages and a brake van left Mt Victoria. Eastwards of Warrimoo station, the first engine safely passed a set of catch-points - however the second engine fouled the points and left the rails. A grave disaster was averted as the train was going slowly at 10 mph / 16 kph, however two crew members were killed.
