Welcome to the Wadi Darga Campground.
This is a great place to rest for the night before trekking down the Darga Wadi.
This campgroud is free, but provides no amenaties. When I was there, there was cellular reception, which was really nice. Nearby is the Metzoke Dragot private resort and bar, which you will pass on the way. I stayed at the campground overnight as a part of an archeological expedition to the Murbaat Cave, so I decided to leave here an "easy" cache to accompany the more chalanging cache on the way to the cave.
To get here you take a winding road that splits off from the highway. Drive up the cliff, past Metzoke Dragot resort, and continue on an unpaved road for another half kilometer until the campground. The cache is a short walk from the campground, near several interesting rock formations. I have no proof, but since one of the larger formation has a distinctive niche with a smooth interior and a well-placed cavity in the wall, I suspect that it was once a shrine of some sort, in the distant past (see photo).
