[RO] Biserica a fost ridicată pe locul unei vechi biserici medievale de sec. XIII, atestă documentar pentru prima dată în registrul dijmei papale din 1332. Se spune despre prima biserică că ar fi fost ortodoxă, iar în sec al XIV-lea a aparţinut cultului grecesc, iar mai apoi celui catolic. Biserica a devenit reformată după anul 1545. Tot din sec al XVI-lea în turnul clopotniţei funcţionează un orologiu. Ȋn anul 1836 biserica este demolată şi începe construcţia unei noi biserici reformate, în stil eclectic, dar lucrarea este întârziată din cauza marelui incendiu din acelaşi an şi a revoluţiei din 1848, fiind terminată abia după 7 ani. Deoarece la sfârşitul sec al XIX-lea biserica a ajuns într-un avansat stadiu de degradare, s-a decis demolarea ei şi construirea unui noi biserici, a cărei lucrări s-au încehiat în anul 1910, când a fost şi sfinţită. Construcţia din cărămidă roşie, are un turn cu ceas şi unul dintre cele mai mari clopote din judeţ, cântărind 3.6 tone. Ȋn interiorul bisericii se regăsec încastrate în perete mai multe fragmente din vechea biserică. O veche piatră funerară datând din anul 1554 este încastrată in zidul estic, piatră ce a fost descoperită de Nicolae Iorga în anul 1905, într-un vechi cimitir şi care era pusă pe mormântul soţiei unui castelan al locului, Dominic Dobo (nume dacic) şi care poartă o inscripţie în latină: “Pe când era stăpân Domonic Dobo peste dacii şi geţii care locuiau în munţi…”. Aceasta a pierit împreună cu soţia şi pruncul lor, de ciumă. Ȋn curtea bisericii se află bustul lui Tordai Sandor Andras, cel care a devenit ulterior episcop al bisericii reformate din Transilvania şi care în anul 1579 a murit la Deva, fiind îngropat în această biserică, piatra lui de mormând fiind încastrată în zidul noii biserici ridicate în anul 1910.
[EN] The church was built on the site of an old medieval church from the 13th century, documented for the first time in the papal tithe register from 1332. The first church is said to have been Orthodox, and in the 14th century it belonged to the Greek cult, later on to the Catholic one. The church was reformed after 1545. Also from the 16th century, a clock works in the bell tower. In 1836, the church was demolished and the construction of a new reformed church began, in an eclectic style, but the work was delayed due to the great fire of the same year and the revolution of 1848, being finished only after 7 years. Since at the end of the 19th century the church reached an advanced stage of decay, it was decided to demolish it and build a new church, whose works were completed in 1910, when it was consecrated. The red brick construction has a clock tower and one of the heavy bells in the county, weighing 3.6 tons. Inside the church, several fragments from the old church can be found embedded in the wall. An old tombstone dating from 1554 is embedded in the eastern wall, a stone that was discovered by Nicolae Iorga in 1905 in an old cemetery and which was placed on the grave of the wife of a local castellan, Dominic Dobo (Dacian name) and which bears an inscription in Latin language: "When Domonic Dobo was lord over the Dacians and Getae who lived in the mountains...". He died together with his wife and baby during the plague. In the church yard is the bust of Tordai Sandor Andras, the one who later became bishop of the reformed church in Transylvania and who died in Deva in 1579, being buried in this church. His tombstone being embedded in the wall of the new church built in the year 1910.
