ATTENTION This area is flood plain for the many surrounding rivers. It will be ankle deep in water during the winter and after heavy rain. It was flooded on the day the cache was set. You WILL need wellingtons or stout footwear.
Please take care on the road.
Despite this grim wet warning this is a beautiful area. During the summer and dry months it is a wonderful place to walk. It is used by many dog walkers but large enough for this not to be a problem for geocaching. If you are lucky you may glimpse the herd of deer that frequent the Meads please do not allow geohounds to chase them.
Be careful crossing the bridges especially when it is in flood. You are crossing the river Bourne. Here both the North and South Bourne have joined together to become a fast moving flow. After heavy rain when the waterfrom the Bourne cannot drain into the Thames which is also full and hence the flood plain and soggy feet.
