Following up on last year's Middle of Nowhere event, this is the same idea but with easier access. I'd like to take a lunch break at posted coordinates - which are at an utterly random-looking spot in the bush - and am thinking of a meandering stroll both for getting there, and also going back to the cars afterward. Join me.
You can of course proceed directly to the event coords at the posted time. But for more fun (ha), let's meet at the "Ample Parking" coords at 10:30am and we'll take the long way. Total length of the walk-with-VP option is theoretically 5km round-trip, but it always ends up being a bit longer. Bring your bushwhackin' boots and some armour against thorns. And lunch of course.
I'm thinking 2.5 hours is about right to cover ~3km to reach event GZ at a bushwhacking pace (east part of the big loop pictured), and think we can save the small SW loop for after lunch, along with the relatively easy exit which will be mostly on a good trail. We might even find a nice spot for another break.
Here's a fine-tuned GPX version of the intended route, done with more scrutiny of satellite view. Avoid importing the waypoints from this file if you can, as they're snapped-to-trail, and thus incorrect.
