A simple traditional cache within sight of the Sticker Down OS Trig Point.
The Trig Point is on private farmland but is easily seen from the headline coordinates where the cache is hidden. In the distance you can see the remains of the South Polgooth Mine Engine House.
South Polgooth Mine was last worked for tin around 150 years ago but was never a rich mine. Arsenic was mined here in the first two decades of the 20th Century.
Records show that a mine existed here over 400 years ago and when the nearby trig pillar was installed, this would have been a local high point. Since the pillar was constructed, man-made higher points can be seen not far away created by the spoil tips from 200 years of china clay workings.
The cache is a small click lock box with room for small TBs.

Ye Ole Survey Monument (YOSM) is a captivating series of caches that pays homage to the remarkable legacy of OutForTheHunt's YSM series (GC45CC).
YOSM caches are strategically positioned at or near Trig Points. These triangulation stations have played a pivotal role as surveying landmarks, contributing to the mapping of expansive territories.
Some of these points, bearing historical significance, might now be situated on private land or have vanished with time. As a result, the caches are artfully placed in close proximity, reverently acknowledging the historical importance of these survey monuments.
