I tabiai
Dal libro "Memorie storiche di Carano e di San Lugano" di Don Giorgio Delvai e Don Lorenzo Felicetti:
Nel 1664 la Comunità Generale concesse in affitto delle pozze di terreno in Aguae a quelli di Carano. Fino a quell'epoca pare che il luogo sia stato incolto o coperto di bosco. Fra il 1680 e il 1700 vi furono fabbricati diversi fienili ("tabiài"), tutti in legno, che andarono poi cambiandosi, un po' alla volta, in case di muro. Nel 1740 vi erano in Aguàe solo cinque fienili; ora (libro del 1928) vi abitano 14 famiglie con 72 anime, e vi dimorano tutto l'anno, mentre anticamente passavano l'inverno a Carano.

Poco prima del ruscello, che più a valle diventerà il "Rio Predaia", e prima d'attraversarei vasti prati d'aguai; ci fermiamo ad ammirare delle piante diverse dalle latifoglie che incontreremo proseguendo.
Gli abeti rossi, alti e maestosi.
Si ergono fieri, gli abeti rossi.
Dal sole proteggono le pelli,
alberi antichi, maestosi e belli.
Danzano con il vento,
custodi lo sono di certo:
segreti e leggende
nelle ombre profonde;
stretti nelle radici
i tesori sono loro amici.
Attenzione!! In montagna una regola non scritta sovrasta tutte le altre: rispettate questi luoghi, lasciate pulito ed in ordine; idealmente in condizioni migliori di come li trovate. Rispettando quest'unico principio tutti potranno godere delle meraviglie di questi ambienti e non vi sarà luogo sulle Alpi dove non sarete ben acceti.

I tabiai (The huts)
From the book "Memorie storiche di Carano e di San Lugano" by Don Giorgio Delvai and Don Lorenzo Felicetti:
In 1664, the General Community leased some ponds in Aguae to the people of Carano. Until that time, the place appears to have been uncultivated or covered with woodland. Between 1680 and 1700, several barns ('tabiài') were built there, all made of wood, which gradually changed into walled houses. In 1740, there were only five barns in Aguàe; now (1928 book) 14 families with 72 souls live there all year round, whereas in the past they spent the winter in Carano.

Just before the stream, which further downstream will become the 'Rio Predaia', and before crossing the vast meadows of aguai; we stop to admire some plants that are different from the broad-leaved trees that we will encounter as we continue.
The spruces, tall and majestic.

ancient trees, majestic and beautiful.
They dance with the wind,
guardians they certainly are:
secrets and legends
in the deep shadows;
clasped in their roots
treasures are their friends.
Attention! In the mountains, one unwritten rule overrides all others: respect these places, leave them clean and tidy; ideally in better condition than you find them. By respecting this one principle, everyone will be able to enjoy the wonders of these environments and there will be no place in the Alps where you will not be welcome.
