The Pinfold is a circular walled enclosure created on Elsdon village green, from local stone. Its original purpose was to hold stray cattle and sheep and was created in the 18th Centuary.
This is now used as a meeting place, and has a picnic bench inside.
Outside is a spinning interpritation panel which celebrates northumberland national parks international dark sky park status.
Elsdon village green is a fantastic place to stargaze, and is an offical dark sky discovery site.
At Elsdon village hall toilets are available and there is free parking in a designated car park on the road corner, over the bridge.
