Capt. America is a superhero who appeared in Marvel comics. He first appeared in December, 1940. His civilian identity was Steve Rogers who was a frail man. In an attempt to create a super soldier, the Army gave Steve a super-soldier serum which enhanced him to the peak of human physical perfection. And he had great tactical skills and achieved mastery in various hand to hand combat styles. He also had an unquenchable love for justice and freedom. The only special gadget he had was his indestructible shield which could also be used as an offensive weapon. Unfortunately the remaining serum was stolen and destroyed by a Nazi spy ending the creation of more super soldiers. The government then gave Steve a patriotic costume including his shield and CAPT. AMERICA was born.
In the world of geocaching, I believe physical strength, tactical skills and common sense are desirable attributes. Years ago I made acquaintance with a cacher who seemed to have these attributes. I could not remember their user name so I dubbed them Capt. America. This is a tribute to one of my geocaching superheroes.
