Geocache Description:

This is the fourth in a series of Sudokaches exploring different sudoku variant rules. "Parity" in mathematics is the property of odd-ness or even-ness of a number.[1]

Normal sudoku rules apply. Also, digits in grey circles must be odd, and digits in grey squares must be even.

Some hints for those who haven't seen this variant before, highlight text to read:

  • Colouring the odd squares one colour (e.g. orange) and the even squares another (e.g. blue) can help.
  • By colouring, it is often possible to determine the parity of a cell long before you know what number goes in it.
  • Each row, column, and box of the puzzle has 5 odd and 4 even numbers.
  • Therefore, if you see 4 blue squares in a column, the rest of that column must be orange.

GZ is near a location where odds and ends may be purchased, you may even find a bargain. Happy solving and hunting!
