Beveik prieš 60 metų Herkaus Manto gatvėje buvo baigiamas statyti vienas didžiausių ir moderniausių tuo metu Klaipėdoje kino teatras "Vaiva". Jame nuo pirmos iki paskutinės dienos dirbo dailininkas Alfonsas Tamošauskas. Šiandien šį jo gyvenimo etapą primena trys dideli albumai, pilni paties tapytų filmų afišų nuotraukų. Tačiau ne tik buvusiam dailininkui "Vaiva" kelia nostalgiją. Apie buvusią šio statinio šlovę ir senąją paskirtį liudija tik stilizuotas užrašas "Vaiva" ant parduotuvės "Maxima" fasado.

Almost 60 years ago, the Vaiva cinema, one of the largest and most modern in Klaipėda at that time, was completed on Herkaus Manto Street. The artist Alfonsas Tamošauskas worked there from the first to the last day. Today, this phase of his life is commemorated by three large albums full of pictures of movie posters he painted. However, "Vaiva" evokes nostalgia not only for the former artist. Only the stylized inscription "Vaiva" on the facade of the store "Maxima" testifies to the former glory and the old purpose of this building.
