Enjoy a hike along the pennine way, at the english & scottish border.
You may well get to see the wild goats grazing amongst the heather. And on a clear day you will have stunning views both across the border into scotland and into the national park.
Yearning Saddle mountain refuge hut was placed here by the Northumberland national park, to provide shelter for walkers who may get caught in changable weather on the exposed ridge. It is in memory of John Weatherall (1927-2008) a founding member and former president of the pennine way association.
Please be well equipped with warm layers and waterproof clothing when embarking on this cache seeking adventure!
