Vilnius narrow railway. In 1946 the line was partially restored to a gauge of 750 mm, directing the track towards the Vilnius power plant. At that time, part of this track was reconstructed into a children's railway. The small children's railway went from Burbiškis through Vingis park, Žvėrynas, Šnipiškes, Šilo bridge, Antakalnis to Turniškės. It was a 600 mm gauge, 16.31 km long narrow gauge railway. The section of Vingis Park from Neris to Gerosios Vilties Street was assigned to the Children's Railway, construction started in 1946. at the beginning Four stations were built - "Pergalės", "Sporto", "Komjaunimo" and "Pionieriu". The original length was 3.6 km. in 1946 at the end, the children's railway was extended to 12 km. At that time, the railway was classified as a vital strategic object for the city of Vilnius, so it was forbidden to show it on maps for a long time. in 1954 after the commissioning of the thermal station, the transportation of fuel by the children's railway was stopped. The children's railway operated until 1980
