This cache is a tribute cache to the geocacher called Banffman.
Banffman, whose real name is John Kvistgaard, is a geocacher from Holbæk who has been part of this game since 2010.
He has found almost 19,000 caches and has laid out about 150 caches to the great pleasure of all of us.
Unfortunately, John was hit by some blood clots and cannot really participate in the game anymore. However, he still follows along a bit and still has some active caches.
John is well-liked both in the local circle of geocachers, but also from other parts of the country, as he traveled far and wide in his career. He was never afraid to suddenly go on a trip alone, either just around Denmark, but also abroad, if there was a series that he found interesting.
He enjoyed participating in both events and on various geo-trips around the world.
This cache was laid out in connection with holding a small tribute event near his current home.
Update March 2025:
On February 27, 2025, John passed away peacefully and was laid to rest at the Margrethe Chapel in Holbæk, at the beginning of March.
May his memory be honored.
