The ABC's of SEK
My friend and I - 2 Nerdy Teachers - have decided to create a series of hides featuring areas in Southeast Kansas. We are hoping each hide will give you some insight on the area or just a fun story from our childhoods/lives.
Our goal is to create 26 hides- from A-Z.
L is for Leap Year
The year this cache was placed happened to be a leap year. A leap year is when there is one extra day, February 29, added to the calendar. This happens every 4 years. We are taught in school that there are 365 days in a year. That is not quite accurate. There are actually 365.2422 days long. The .2422 equates to about 6 hours each year. This may not sound like much, but over time - without the adjustment- our seasons would shift. Could you imagine celebrating the Fourth of July in the middle of winter?
