Poleg lake was formed in the 70s when it was used as an active Kurkar quarry.
The lake and its surrounding were renovated 5 years ago by the Sharon Region Drainage and Streams Authority.
Today the area surrounding the lake is maintained by the Hof HaSharon regional municipality. The flora you'll see in this park is typical for the region.
Although the park is made to feel natural, it's boosted with artificial irrigation, as evidenced at the published location.
There's no need to open the big irrigation box to find the cache, but if you found it then you're at the right spot.
