Il Cinema Massimo, progettato da Ottorino Aloisio negli anni Trenta, subì danni durante i bombardamenti del 1942, ma fu successivamente riprogettato dallo stesso architetto. Chiuso negli anni Ottanta a causa della crisi del settore cinematografico e della tragedia del Cinema Statuto, fu affidato al Museo Nazionale del Cinema nel 1989. Nel 2001, l'architetto Daniele Portaleone lo ristrutturò completamente, creando tre sale dotate di tecnologia all'avanguardia. Le sale Uno e Due sono destinate alla prima visione di film indipendenti e emergenti, mentre la sala Tre è dedicata alla cineteca, con proiezioni di film provenienti da tutto il mondo. Il Cinema Massimo ospita retrospettive, eventi speciali, festival e incontri culturali, diventando un punto di riferimento per la cinematografia a Torino.
Cinema Massimo was designed by Ottorino Aloisio in the 1930s and suffered damage during the bombings of 1942, but was subsequently redesigned by the same architect. Closed in the 1980s due to the crisis in the film industry and the tragedy of the Cinema Statuto, it was entrusted to the National Cinema Museum in 1989. In 2001, architect Daniele Portaleone completely renovated it, creating three rooms equipped with cutting-edge technology. Rooms One and Two are intended for the first viewing of independent and emerging films, while Room Three is dedicated to the film library, with screenings of films from all over the world. Cinema Massimo hosts retrospectives, special events, festivals and cultural meetings, becoming a point of reference for cinematography in Turin.
