Tabor nad Erzeljem

Erzelj je raztresen po robu Vipavskih gričev. Zidane utrdbe, ti. tabori so na Slovenskem nastajali od 15. do 18. stoletja in so služili za zatočišče v primeru vojne nevarnosti ali roparskih pohodov. Nastajali so predvsem zaradi obrambe pred Turki, na Primorskem pa tudi zaradi bojev Habsburžanov z Benečani.
Podružnična cerkev sv. Mihaela stoji znotraj delno ohranjenega protiturškega tabora. Sedanja cerkev je bila pozidana sredi 15. stoletja, sredi 18. stoletja pa je bila obnovljena. Nad vhodom skozi zvonik je vzidan relief sv. Mihaela iz 2. polovice 15. stoletja.
Zaklad se skriva v bližini cerkve.

The hamlets of Erzelj are scattered along the Vipava hills. Brick strongholds, the so-called "Tabori" (i.e. base camps) were created in Slovenia between the 15th and the 18th century and were used as a refuge in case of war or plundering raids. They were created mainly for defense against the Turks but in Primorska also because of the battles between the Habsburgs and the Venetians.
The succursal church of St. Mihael stands inside the partially preserved anti-Turkish base camp. The current church was built in the middle of the 15th century and was renovated in the middle of the 18th century. Above the entrance through the bellfry there is a relief of St. Mihael from the second half of the 15th century.
The treasure is hidden near the church.
