Hike 0.5-miles along the Overlook Trail at Highbanks Metro Park to find this cache located near the historic Pool family gravestones. This is a very popular and busy park, so finding a parking space can sometimes be a challenge. The parking coordinates correspond to the closest lot to the trailhead, but if it’s full, there are 4 other parking lots in the Oak Coves Picnic Area. If you park in one of these, just hop on the nearby Dripping Rock Trail and take it to the Overlook Trail, or walk the paved path through the picnic area to the listed parking coords
Finding the container will be the easy part. Finding the log...perhaps not so much. Just as the American burying beetle digs down to bury small dead animals, you will also have to dig down to find the logbook for this cache. What are you looking for? You’ll know it when you see it. Have fun and enjoy the search.
Once you log your find, you may want to finish hiking the Overlook Trail (2.3 miles total). Highlights include the Edward F. Hutchins State Nature Preserve, a prehistoric earthwork, nesting bald eagles and an observation deck 100 feet above the Olentangy River. Pets are not allowed on the Overlook Trail.
Putting on the GeoTrail every year takes a lot of work, and we couldn't do it without the help from the geocaching community. Thanks to Pepperznitro & Pathwayz for creating this cache and helping us look after it!
