Been coming to Ballito for summer holiday for many years and Thompson Bay is our favorite Beach.
Geocaching, started at Germany years ago is one of mine outdoor activities and luckily Ballito area has with Dessertal and Weirty a small group of enthusiastic geocachers. I like to join the activities specially the CITO`s to clean up the beaches, which I always do when I visit Thompson Bay and wondering how people can put their towels in between all the litter and not pick it up – that’s were the cache name comes from.
Last I joined a beach clean CITO in Ballito by Desertal and together with the environmentally conscious people from Adopt a Beach we clean up Long Beach, Zimbali, Ballito and there I got the idea for this special container and may be it convince you to follow me, join a group of beach cleaner or just do it when you visit the beach and turn the Blue Flag Litter Beach – into the BLUE FLAG Beach
CITO Events - at CITO events, geocachers and community groups work together to improve parks, beaches and other outdoor environments. They clean up litter, plant trees, remove invasive species, build trails, and more.
CITO every caching day - CITO can happen on every geocaching adventure! Pick up trash that you see on the trail. Clean up the area around each geocache. These small acts make a huge difference.
Join Adopt a Beach - a amazing group that helps keep our country and world cleaner and more environmentally friendly., by adopting a beach , river, park you’ll play a crucial role in protecting marine life, preserving natural beauty, and fostering a cleaner environment for everyone to enjoy. If you’re in South Africa, you might want to look for local CITO
This special container for CITO to sign this log you must have a permanent marker. You will see why this is an essential requirement once you find the container at GZ. The cache will be maintained by Desertal
