Welcome to the Monuments & Multis Series — M&M Series
.
The Island has numerous small monuments & plaques commemorating oft forgotten people, places & events that played a role in the history of the Island. Most such commemorative reminders, if noticed at all, are usually driven by without stopping or reading. This series hopes to highlight the Island’s past through a number of quick, 2-stage multi caches that require visiting & reading such plaques.

This monument commemorates the three churches that existed on this site, and the families that worshipped together here. In 18XX, the first church, Summerfield Presbyterian Church, was erected on land donated by Peter Sinclair. As the community grew, this church was replaced by a larger church with the first service being held on January 13, 18XX.
In 19XX that church was destroyed by a fire. Coincidently, the congregation had just voted to join the newly formed United Church of Canada. The third church was built and dedicated as the United Church of Summerfield on November 7, 19XX. Five generations worshipped here as a United Church congregation until the church was decommissioned and dismantled in 20XX.
Dedicated on August 8, 20XX
To get the final cache coordinates, you must read the monument’s plaque; add up the missing dates (designate as “X”) and use “X” in the following equation:
N 46 23.(X + 247) W 063 31.(X + 491)
Checksum: N=25, W=24
