Geocache Description:

Welcome to the 2024 Taconic Region NYS Park Summer Geocaching Challenge.  Please see RSPP 1 for details about the challenge.

About this series: Can you name the Hudson River Bridges?  The  Mid-Hudson Bridge is a 3000-foot-long parallel wire cable suspension bridge with suspended side panels.  It carries US 44 and NY 55 between Ulster and Dutchess counties.  The bridge opened in 1930 at a cost of $5.9 million.

The Mid-Hudson Bridge was designated as a New York State Historic Civil Engineering Landmark by the American Society of Civil Engineers in 1983. The bridge was given the ceremonial designation of the "Franklin Delano Roosevelt Mid-Hudson Bridge" in 1994.  (Source:  Wikipedia)
