When traveling between Punulu'u Black Sand Beach and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park there are very few places along the highway to safely pull your vehicle off the road. Right around mile marker 40 is a wide and perfect spot to stop and take a rest or get out of your car and stretch your legs.
