What is a "cache machine"? It's a Pacific Northwest phenomenon - a day of power caching and socializing along a pre-planned route, with a dinner event at the end. The route usually highlights popular caches in the area. The first post in this forum thread gives you the general idea: TravisL originated the Cache Machine concept in 2002. Since his retirement as a "cache machinist" others have stepped up to organize cache machines throughout the region.
The last official cache machine held in Bend was in September of 2013, and future CMs were slated for Redmond as well as a Bend II event. The route for this event hasn't been set yet and could include Redmond if there is interest in that.
The official event is the after-machine dinner on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 7pm.
Dinner will be a casual affair. Food is available from the brewery kitchen as well as several food carts. A variety of beverages are also available including non-alcoholic choices. Children are welcome, as are well behaved dogs on leash (dogs on patio only).
