Welcome to the quaint village of Cross.
A lovely little stop on the way out to the Loop Head coastline. If you're lucky enough you might catch a Naomh Eoin game and treat yourself to a lovely drink at a local bar.
It's said the village is either named after the cross off the old Kilballyowen church, or the fact that is was an important cross roads in the Loop Head peninsula. Historically the entire area was a single parish until roughly 1878 where it was split into two, Carrigaholt, the eastern side, and Cross, the western side.
Please place the cache back carefully! Enjoy.
