It was a dark and stormy night. Google Maps informed us that our route to San Antonio may be impacted by a Tornado Warning. How lovely. The rain was so intense that we could hardly see the car in front of us. The highway looked like an airport runway with blinking lights as everyone turned on their hazards.
From the back of the car, we heard a voice.
“I need to go potty.”
Suddenly, through the torrential downpour, we saw a glorious sign - BUC-EES
The last time we drove through here, this location was under construction, so we were surprised to see the Grand Opening flags.
The rain cleared as we turned into the parking lot, and we skipped inside to visit their World Famous Bathrooms.
On our way out, we realized that there was enough unclaimed space for us to hide a cache. I’ve always wanted my own Buc-ees cache!! So we dropped off a bison tube in a very traditional hiding spot.
We jumped back on the road - and the downpour started up all over again.
And we all lived happily ever after.
