If you like trains, here's an old station! Jacksonville.gov says: the St. Johns River narrows near downtown were called “Pass de San Nicolas” by the Spanish, and the lovely village of St. Nicholas evolved in the area after the Civil War. The depot was built in St. Nicholas in 1899 for rail service to the beaches, and served the area until the railroad ceased operations in 1932. Developers donated the parkland to the City in 1940, and the station building was moved there in 2004 for restoration. The cache is among the trees, and there is street parking on Traymore Rd between the two sections of the park.
