Sumida Park is a park that straddles Taito and Sumida wards in Tokyo, and stretches out on both banks of the Sumida River. This park has long been known as a cherry blossom viewing spot, and is also home to a Japanese garden, temples, and shrines. Kotoibashi is a bridge located in Sumida Park, and is a scenic spot where you can see the Tokyo Skytree through the cherry blossoms from the Taito Ward side. You can also enjoy the view of cherry blossoms and Tokyo Sky Tree from the Sumida Ward side. Kotoibashi Bridge was built after the Great Kanto Earthquake, and is also known as the bridge where many casualties occurred during the Tokyo air raids. To get to Sumida Park, it is about a 7-minute walk (Tobu Isesaki Line) or 9 minutes (Tokyo Metro Ginza Line) from Asakusa Station2.
