25 in 2025
(Community Forest)


2025 will mark the 25th Anniversary of Geocaching. As part of the 25th Anniversary Celebration, GCHQ will be distributing credits to host a Community Celebration Event (CCE). One of the requirements to obtain a credit is to host an event in 2024, which shouldn't be an issue for the IE Cachers. Another requirement is to place a cache in 2024, so here's our 7th. Who knows there might be more!



This is a Letterbox Hybrid Cache. A letterbox is another form of treasure hunting using clues instead of coordinates. Once a letterbox is found instead of signing a log book, you place your stamp mark in the letterbox's log book and place the letterbox's stamp into your own log book.

In some cases such as this, a letterbox hybrid has coordinates, making it a letterbox and a geocache. You can leave your stamp and get the cache's stamp in your own log book as in letterboxing, or you can simply sign the log book as in geocaching.

This letterbox hybrid contains:
- A log book. BRING YOUR OWN PEN.
- A rubber stamp. BRING YOUR OWN INK PAD.
PLEASE LEAVE THEM IN THE CACHE!!

This LBH is NOT at the posted coordinates!!
To find this LBH you have two options:

1) From the posted coordinates:

- Follow the Blue Diamond trail clockwise
- Turn left at the 2nd gated trail on the left
- Follow the trail a short ways until the T in the trail
- Turn right... flow the trail using the official GC App
- Go until the trail ends
- Find the cache under the large boulder near the edge

OR


2) From the posted coordinates:

The final container is located at:
North 47° 42.ABC
West 116° 59.XYZ

- At Posted Coordinates:
A= Reading bottom to top... placement of Purple Diamond
- At Waypoint #1:
B= Reading top to bottom... placement of Orange Diamond
- At Waypoint #2:
C= Reading bottom to top... placement of Yellow Circle

- At Waypoint #3:
X= # of Diamonds
- At Waypoint #4:
Y= # of Circles
- At Waypoint #5:
Z= C + # of Diamonds + Circles
