There's a story to this one. In reading some of the logs from nearby caches you may have noted that Team Salford placed one nearby last year - or at least tried to. It ended up being disallowed by the reviewer because he used a small Jelly Jar as the inner container, violating a rule that says no glass. Fast forward, while MrDBF and I were out here, we looked for that cache to replace the offending item with a legit plastic one. Armed with a satellite pic and the posted pic of the container in situ, but (due to a comedy of errors and no cell signal) no coords, we spend at least 30 min on the way out looking unsuccessfully looking for it. Undaunted, on the way back we tried again, and it was Dave who studied the posted pic, matched that with the background trees, accounted for parallax, and proceeded right to the hide.
Good news is that we found it. Bad news is that the container and entire tree that it was attached to was underwater. So after dutifully retrieving the body for future cremation, and being prepared with a new (legal) container and zip ties, we searched for a suitable tree for replacement. Ultimately we decided that there were no suitable trees nearby, and a high likelhood that any similar placement would suffer the same fate; so we moved the coordinates to something a bit more permanent.
