Hello, fellow geocachers! It's Floki here, your friendly Border Collie, wagging excitedly to share my latest geocaching adventure at the scenic Carberry Tower. Not only is this a pawsome spot for long walks and sniffing around, but it’s also steeped in history, perfect for a day of exploring and treasure hunting!
Carberry Tower is more than just a beautiful estate; it's a place where history comes alive: In June 1567, on Carberry Hill—part of the expansive Carberry Estate—Mary, Queen of Scots, faced off against an army assembled by her own lords. The confrontation didn't last long as she quickly surrendered, leading to her imprisonment. Nearby, you can find the Queen's Mount, a monument commemorating this significant event.
Now, onto the main event—geocaching! I’ve sniffed out some of the best hiding spots around the estate to place new caches. As you explore, you'll get to enjoy the thrill of the hunt, the challenge of solving clues, and the joy of discovering hidden treasures. Whether you’re a newbie or a seasoned geocacher, there’s something here for everyone and perhaps learn a bit of history along the way.
Remember, geocaching is all about adventure and respect for nature. Make sure to tread lightly and leave no trace, so everyone can enjoy the beauty of Carberry Tower just as much as we do.
Happy hunting, and may your noses be as keen as mine in finding those caches!
Tail wags and happy trails,
Floki
