In località Torrate, nel territorio comunale di San Vito al Tagliamento a confine con quello di Chions, esiste ancora un piccolo bosco ("Boscat") che costituisce uno dei pochi resti della selva che ricopriva anticamente il territorio.

Si tratta infatti di uno dei pochi lembi residui che ricopriva anticamente il territorio posto tra Livenza e Tagliamento. Si estende, nel territorio comunale di San Vito al Tagliamento a confine con quello di Chions, per sette ettari ed al suo interno oltre alla quercia gentile e al carpino bianco, troviamo altri alberi e arbusti quali l’acero campestre, il frassino a foglia stretta, l’olmo campestre, il ciliegio selvatico, il biancospino, il prugnolo e il nocciolo e molti altri. Molto interessante è la flora erbacea come il bucaneve o il campanellino di primavera, ma qui crescono anche delle vere rarità come il giglio martagone e il giglio giallo o alcuni tipi di orchidea. Anche dal punto di vista faunistico il bosco rappresenta una specie di riserva, qui troviamo la rana di Lataste, lo sparviero, la puzzola e il moscardino o nocciolo. Il bosco è vincolato come bellezza naturale dal 1939.
