Geocache Description:

ABOUT THIS SERIES: This is a series of 8 caches highlighting a beautiful area of SGL 112. The SGL parking area for this series is located along Mill Creek Hollow Road, just off of Route 655 (Big Valley Pike) in Huntingdon County. As the title of the series suggests, there are a lot of amazing rocks here. This series follows first a SGL access road (caches #0, #1,:#2, & #3) and then The Standing Stone Trail (caches #4, #5, #6, & #7). For more information and maps on The Standing Stone Trail (SST), please visit their website at http://www.standingstone.org

Doing the whole series requires an approximately 4-4.5 mile round trip, out and back hike. The SGL access road starts out flat, but climbs some up to the SST. The SST then is of moderately challenging terrain with some rocky areas. In the warmer times of the year (April-September), BE VERY AWARE that there are rattlesnakes in this rocky area. I have seen them in the area, so please be very careful! As this area is all State Game Lands, please wear your orange, especially during the main hunting season. Be safe, be seen! There is little to no cell service here, so I recommend saving these to a offline list or using a handheld gps if possible.

ABOUT THIS CACHE: This one is located right at the gate. BYOP and replace as found please.
