Placed in 2024 to celebrate Elvaston Cricket Club’s 175th Anniversary.
The club has experienced both ‘highs’ and ‘lows’ over the years. The highs: Claiming victory at Lords in the National Village Cricket Cup in both 1994 and 2000. The lows: a match was called off in 2011 when a swarm of bees forced the players to take cover in the pavilion and in 2022 Elvaston recorded one of the lowest scores in history after they were bowled out for nine. However, they remain one of the leading village teams in the County.
Situated in the picturesque grounds of Elvaston Country Park the club is one of the most attractive places to play and watch cricket and is greatly valued by the local community.
