Geocache Description:

This is being placed in memory of Mick, a Black Labrador/Rottweiller mix dog that we adopted from this animal shelter.
(I have permission from the shelter to place this cache here.)

Mick was seven years old when we rescued him from the shelter. (Though they were VERY good to him.)

He'd been there awhile, because he was an older dog, and had just been diagnosed with diabetes and needed insulin shots twice a day.
He had had a hard life beforehand, had separation anxiety, but he grew to love his home with us on 5 acres south of town. I would walk him on the adjacent 80 acre field.  AND he got along with our cats.

He had a good, loving life with us for 2 1/2 years before the disease caught up with him.

Finding the cache is easy.  To open it, you need to figure out the combination to the lock by answering the question at the end of this silly joke

A man walks into a bar with his dog.
The bartender says, "Hey, you can't bring that dog in here ! "
The man replies, "But this is a special dog. He can talk."

The bartender answers, "OK, if you can show me that he can talk, he can stay."

The man turns to the dog and says, "Mick, what do you call the part of a house that's over our heads?"

Mick replies, "ROOF"

The bartender says, "Hey, that's not talking."

The man responds with, "OK, let me ask him another question. Mick, how does sandpaper feel? "
Mick answers, "RUFF"

The bartender is now getting angry and threatens to throw them both out into the street.

The man says, "Give me one more chance. Mick, who was the greatest baseball player of all time ? "

Mick ponders for a moment, then looks up and says, "RUTH"

"That's it ! ", says the bartender and he tosses both of them out the door and into the gutter.

As the man and the dog both pick themselves up, Mick looks at the man, questionly, and says, "DiMAGGIO ??, MAYS ??, COBB?? "

Now the combination to the lock is a 4 letter word.

That word is how the Mick in this joke would have answered the following question,

"What do we call the outer layer of the trunk of a tree ?"
