Lastniki lovskega doma so o zakladu obveščeni.

Between Škofja Loka, Kranj and Medvoda, between Sora, Sava and the railway, there is Sorško polje, full of tiny corners that we don't notice or pass by.
The Sorško Polje Hunting Lodge is located in idyllic location next to the forest. Because people often notice the lodge, they quickly overlook an interesting monument, even if it is in a very obvious place: a monument dedicated to Saint Hubert.
Saint Hubert is best known as the patron saint of hunters, but we know a little less that he is also the patron saint of mathematicians, opticians and metalworkers.
As a young man, he was sent to Paris to the court of Theodoric III. There he achieved the honorary title of Count Palatine. Like most noblemen, Hubert was devoted to hunting.
Unfortunately, life was not exactly easy for him, like for the most saints. Majordom Erboin, with his tyrannical leadership and oppression, caused a general exodus of the nobles to the Austrasian court in Metz. Hubert was no exception. However, because he was kind-hearted, noble and refined, the butler Pippin the Middle accepted him and soon entrusted him with the role of the chief administrator of the court.
Hubert married Floribanna, daughter of Dagobert, Count of Leuven, and they had a son, Floribert, who later became a bishop.
But, unfortunately, the birth of a child was not marked by happiness, as it is mostly nowadays. Namely, his wife died during childbirth.
After the death of his wife, Hubert retreated to the forests of the Ardennes and devoted himself completely to hunting.
And here one legend happened, which says that Hubert went out hunting on Good Friday, when the faithful were thronging the churches. As he was stalking a large deer, the animal turned and Hubert stopped in astonishment as if he had been frozen still when he saw a cross between the horns and heard a voice: "Hubert, if you do not convert to the Lord and strive for a holy life, you will quickly land in hell ." Hubert dismounted, threw himself on the ground, and said, "Sir, what would you have me do?" He got the answer: "Go and find Lambert and he will teach you."
Hubert immediately went to Maastricht, where Lambert (later also canonized) was bishop. He received him kindly and became his spiritual leader. From that time on, he lived very modestly: he renounced all the honors of the nobility, noblemen, entrusted the guardianship of his firstborn to his brother Od, distributed all his episcopal savings among the poor, and many other things.
Hubert died peacefully at Fura in Brabant on 30 May 727 or 728.
