Cache #198
When I first started caching there were quite a few caches on Gateway Island. Over the years they have slowly been archived until there are very few left. Time to fix that up - this is a series of slightly different caches to fill the gap here. There is a concrete path around the outside of the island (with acess points highlighted) allowing walking and cycling accees to the caches. Most of the caches are hopefully above flood level, but access might be restricted at times.
Gateway Island is a popular fishing spot - I have seen locals with Murray Cod here. This is the one traditional in the series, and will require a different type of fishing. The hide should be obvious (its a bison), however retrieving the cache may not be simple.. You will almost certainly need a tool here, in fact two might help (there is some infrastructure that should help). You will also need your own writing impement to sign the log. Please replace as found and let me know if any issues.
The Island can be busy and so stealth will be required at times - cyclists can appear quickly so take care with kids. Snakes might be present in the warmer months. I take the geohound here but am wary that there are lots of kangaroos so safer to keep them on a leash.
Enjoy!
