On October 30, 1982 a new park created at 41st and Xenia Avenues and was formally dedicated and named for Norma DuBois Kelly, who sevred on the Housing Authority and was active in preserving open space. Several trees were planted in the new park. For several years many Robbinsdale residents had decried the fact that there was no park or open space west of Highway 100. Finally, with the help of federal money, the land was purchased and is today known as "Kelly Park". One old house was demolished and one was moved to 3839 Lee Avenue to create the open park space. In 2019, the Hennepin Youth Sports Program awarded a $25,000 grant to Robbinsdale for the purchase of new playground equipment!
