Davy Crockett National Forest- White Rock Horse Camp. About 6 months ago we decided there needs to be more caches in or near the Davy Crockett National Forest. Those first 3 that we placed haven't drawn much attention from the geocaching world, so let's see if a few more will do the trick. The trails here are designated as horse trails, but other activities are allowed (https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/texas/recarea/?recid=30220). You can hike, bike, camp, or just shout out loud! The trails are wider than many hiking trails and unless there has been recent turbulent weather they are clear of debris. This cache, like the others we have placed in the area can be accessed without entering the paid area. There is not much traffic in the area so parking is not a problem in nearby pullouts or just along the side of the road.
This cache is found near the intersection of the State road and the Forest Road. It will be a fairly east find once you are in the "geozone". It is a little bushy, depending on the time of year, so be aware of your surroundings for snakes, wasps, ticks, mosquitoes, and all the other joyous forms of life that have the right to live here. As with the others nearby, the thrill is in simply taking the ride through the beautiful pine forest/s and enjoying new places in the outdoors. It is a bsb, my favorite type cache container. There is no pen, so bring your own. (BYOP).
Notes- Baby soda bottle with string tether. BYOP.
