Where you are standing, is on the old road to Charlottenburg Park.
This road was used from the 60’s till 1990. Due to government cutbacks, this park was closed. About 10 years later, the park land was leased to the RRCA who cleaned up the breach, installed a new entrance, and reopened the beach to the public around 2000.
Just south of here was a favourite fish spot for kids at the park. Take a moment and listen and you may hear the bullfrogs just downstream.
