Geocache Description:

Alter Güterwaggon in Wasentegernbach[EN] An old freight wagon stands completely lost on the side of the road, defying its final decay. It stands on a few meters of rail, which is the last remnant of the train station of Wasentegernbach, which from 1898 to 1988 offered the residents of the small village a direct train connection to Munich and Mühldorf.
Please note: The cache is directly accessible from the street. Nothing needs to be opened, screwed around or changed in any way on the wagon. It does not need and must not be entered. Even searching under the wagon is pointless.
Motor vehicles can be stopped for a short time in the immediate vicinity of the cache.

For all caches in this series:
In eastern Upper Bavaria lies a scenic and ecological gem that is almost untouched by tourists: the Isen Valley. The small river of the same name meanders in a west-east direction between the Upper Bavarian terminal moraines in the south and the tertiary hills in the north. Its numerous wet meadows are still one of Germany's most important protected areas for meadow breeding birds. This is particularly true in the valley between Dorfen and Schwindegg. There are no continuous streets or marked cycling or hiking trails here. Only the Munich – Mühldorf railway line runs along the southern edge. Nevertheless, the approximately 10 km long route can easily be covered on foot or by bike. You can easily travel by train from Munich or Mühldorf. There are also enough parking spaces available at the train stations of Dorfen and Schwindegg. It doesn't matter which direction you travel the route. You can always start at one of the two train stations and easily return by train from the other. Bicycles are taken along. Trains run at least every hour, including on weekends.

Important: The route largely leads through or along a meadow breeding reserve. Please be sure to follow the rules here: stay on the paths and keep dogs on a leash! Some of the trails are not accessible between March 15 and July 15. The listings of the caches located there are deactivated during this time.
There is largely a driving ban on motor vehicles. Individual caches can be reached by car or motorcycle. This is noted in the attributes.

And now: Have fun hiking, cycling and searching!
