Om Finspång
Finspång är en gammal bruksort med flera större industrier. Stadens grundande brukar räknas 1580 då den inflyttade nederländaren Wellam De Wijk, av Johan III anförtroddes ledningen av verksamheten i Finspång. Under dennes ledning uppkom ett verkligt bruk med inriktning på produktion av kanoner och masstillverkning av kulor, som kom att bli Finspångs bruk. En verksamhet som under släkten De Geer af Finspång kom att vidareutvecklas och fortleva i över 300 år inan den slutligen togs över av en konkurrent.
Finspång, såsom många andra järnbruk, kom att anställa folk från många olika länder, vid sidan av de tidigare svenska, finska och tyska inslagen kom vallonerna bli en ny och dominerande folkgrupp på de svenska bruken.
Louis De Geer d. y. kom att lägga grundstenen till Finspångs slott den 23 oktober 1668, på en långsträckt holme omfluten av Finspångsåns två armar. Runt slottet med sitt orangeri och lusthus växte bruket upp med smedjor, kanongjuteri och bruksgata.
Finspång var en ort i Risinge socken och Finspång ingick efter kommunreformen 1862 i Risinge landskommun. 1942 ombildades landskommunen till Finspångs köping där ortens bebyggelse bara utgjorde en mindre del av köpingskommun. 1971 uppgick köpingen i Finspångs kommun med Finspång som centralort.
Judiciellt har orten ingått i samma tingslag, domsagor och tingsrätter som Risinge socken i Finspånga läns härad och ingår sedan 1971 i Norrköpings domsaga.
Finspångs kommun har idag drygt 13 000 innevånare. Riksväg 51, från Norrköping till Örebro, passerar Finspång. Här finns även en normalspårig järnväg, som ansluter till Södra stambanan i Kimstad. Persontrafik saknas på banan.

Geocache-serierna Östgötatorg
Januari-Mars 2011 placerade jag (LHCper) ut 13 stycken Östgötatorg-multis, en i varje kommun i Östergötland. Och varje hade en bonussiffra som sedan ledde fram till en bonus-cache. Av dessa finns idag (maj 2024) 4 kvar, men de kommer att arkiveras efter hand.
För att göra ett försenat 10-års-jubileum så placerar jag ut nya Östgötatorgs-multis. Men ingen bonus-cache denna gången, och jag lovar inte att placera ut i alla kommuner.
För att lösa denna hoppas jag att du verkligen besöker torget, för annars blir det svårt...

För att hitta slutgömman behöver du besöka Bergslagstorget för att kolla upp och räkna några saker som du kan se i närheten av startkoorinaten:
A: Vid starten finns en fontän. Hur många uttrar ser du i och vid fontänen?
B: Runt om på torget finns 3 grupper av "ägg" (se bild A). Hur många "ägg" är det totalt?
C: Om du tittar i riktning mot Slottsparken så ser du en grupp med några oranga "figurer" (se bild B). Hur många "figurer"?
D: Titta därefter till vänster om de oranga figurerna. Där ser du en busskur som har samma namn som torget. I kuren finns ett antal sittplatser/stolar av olika färger (se bild C). Hur många sådana "stolar" ser du i kuren?

About Finspång
Finspång is an old mining based town with several major industries. The founding of the city is usually counted in 1580 when the immigrated Dutchman Wellam De Wijk was entrusted by Johan III with the management of the business in Finspång. Under his leadership, a real mill emerged with a focus on the production of cannons and mass production of bullets, which became Finspång's mill. A business that under the De Geer af Finspång family was further developed and survived for over 300 years before it was finally taken over by a competitor.
Finspång, like many other iron mills based towns, came to employ people from many different countries, alongside the previous Swedish, Finnish and German elements, the Walloons became a new and dominant ethnic group at the Swedish mills.
Louis De Geer d. y. came to lay the foundation stone for Finspångs Castle on October 23, 1668, on an elongated islet surrounded by two arms of the Finspångsån. Around the castle with its orangery and gazebo, the mill grew up with forges, cannon foundry and mill street.
Finspång was a place in Risinge parish and Finspång was included after the municipal reform in 1862 in Risinge country municipality. In 1942, the county municipality was reorganized into Finspångs köping, where the town's buildings only formed a smaller part of Köping municipality. In 1971, the purchase amounted to Finspång municipality with Finspång as the central location.
Judicially, the town has been part of the same district law, judgments and district courts as Risinge parish in Finspånga county and since 1971 has been included in Norrköping's domsaga.
The municipality of Finspång today has just over 13,000 inhabitants. National highway 51, from Norrköping to Örebro, passes Finspång. There is also a standard-gauge railway here, which connects to the Södra main line in Kimstad. There is no passenger traffic on the track.

Geocache series Östgötatorg
January-March 2011 I (LHCper) placed 13 Östgötatorg multis, one in each municipality in Östergötland. And each had a bonus number which then led to a bonus cache. Of these, there are today (May 2024) 4 left, but they will be archived one after the other.
To mark a belated 10-year anniversary, I am placing new Östgötorg multis. But no bonus cache this time, and I do not promise to place in all municipalities.
To solve this one, I hope you really visit the square, because otherwise it will be difficult...
To find the final location
To find the final cache, you need to visit Bergslagstorget to check and count a few things:
A: At the start there is a fountain. How many otters do you see inside and next to the fountain?
B: Around the square are 3 groups of "eggs" (see picture A). How many "eggs" are there in total?
C: If you look in the direction of the Castle park you can see a group of orange "things" (see picture B). How many "things"?
D: Look to the left of the orange "things". There you can see a bus stop / shelter with the same name as the square. In this shelter there are a number of seatings / chairsof different colors (see picture C). How many such "chairs" do you see at the bus stop?
