Here you have a brilliant view over Algiers.
But you also stand in front of an impressive concrete monument. This was opened in 1982 in honor of the 20th anniversary of Algeria's War of Independence. The monument is 302 feet tall and depicts three upright palm leaves, each with a single Algerian soldier at the base. In the center of the monument is the eternal flame.
The monument stands on the site of an old military fortress on a hill, so it is visible from everywhere. But conversely you also have a great view of Algiers and the coast.
For the geocache:
Go to waypoint 1. There you will find a board nearby with two years on it at the bottom right.
Add the two years and form the cross sum. This is X.
Final: N 36° 44.(39 x X)+3 E 3° 04. (9 x X)+6
Look for the hiding place very carefully. It can be seen from the path and if you take photos of this brilliant monument, you can quickly access it. Have fun!
