Původní elektrárna byla postavena v letech 1966 až 1969 a měla celkový výkon 640 MW. V roce 2009 začala výstavba nového bloku o výkonu 660 MW, který se stal prvním nadkritickým a vysoce účinným blokem v ČR a střední Evropě. Ledvice Power Plant, located in the Ústí nad Labem Region between the cities of Teplice and Bílina, is one of the most modern coal-fired power plants in the Czech Republic. The original power plant was built between 1966 and 1969 with a total capacity of 640 MW. In 2009, the construction of a new block with a capacity of 660 MW began, making it the first supercritical and highly efficient block in the Czech Republic and Central Europe. This block, which was commissioned in 2017, utilizes the Best Available Techniques (BAT) and achieves an efficiency of up to 42.5%, allowing for a 20% reduction in emissions compared to conventional coal-fired power plants.
