Industry has played a major role in the development of Arvika. Many different factories were established towards the end of the 19th century – such as various mechanical workshops, furniture manufacturers, wallpaper factories, breweries and much more. The establishment of the railway played an important role in the heyday of the local industries. Over time, many of the city's industries have unfortunately closed down or moved abroad, but one of those that was founded early atill remain, albeit under a different name. Initially agricultural machinery was produced, and the factory grew rapidly. Since 1960, wheel loaders have been produced in the factory, and the locals often use the name the factory received in 1916.
