This is an official WSGA (Washington State Geocaching Association) event.
Lunch will start at noon, and hamburgers, hot dogs, condiments, chips, drinks, and dessert will be provided. If you have other dietary needs, bring something you will enjoy. Volunteers are needed to help with the setup and clean up afterward. If you arrive early, you will be put to work. The park opens at 8 AM.
Saltwater State Park encompasses 137 acres of second-growth timber right on Puget Sound in the city of Des Moines.
Visitors can walk in the sand, explore tidal pools, or enjoy the shaded, forested trails. The North and South Rim Trails can be accessed from the parking area near the park entrance and from near our picnic area. There is a playground for children. A picnic shelter is nestled along McSorely Creek, a salmon-bearing stream. A restroom is located on-site.
This event is sponsored by the Washington State Geocaching Association and is open to all geocachers: Puget Sound area cachers and visitors, WSGA members and non-members, seasoned cachers and newcomers, and families are always welcomed. So come, eat, visit friends, meet new folks, trade caching secrets, and enjoy the day!
If you are a geocacher in the state of Washington, please consider joining the WSGA. Follow this link to visit our website to learn more about becoming a WSGA member. An opportunity to join or renew a WSGA membership will be available at the event.
The event is being held in a Washington State Park, so a Discovery Pass or day pass is required to park.
