Obala u području Ravna Dolina u Hrvatskoj nalazi se na istočnoj obali Jadranskog mora i dio je dalmatinske regije, koja je geološki poznata kao krško područje. Ova vrsta obale karakterizirana je sljedećim značajkama:

Krška geologija: Obala u blizini Ravna Doline pretežno je sastavljena od vapnenačkih stijena, uglavnom vapnenca i dolomita, koji su nastali sedimentacijom tijekom jure i krede (prije 145-200 milijuna godina). Ovaj krški teren sklon je razvoju podzemnih krških pojava, poput špilja, ponora i podzemnih rijeka.

Razvedena obala: Dalmatinska obala, uključujući područje Ravna Dolina, vrlo je razvedena s brojnim zaljevima, otočićima i poluotocima. Ova razvedenost rezultat je tektonskih pokreta i potapanja krškog reljefa pod morem. The coastline in the area of Ravna Dolina in Croatia lies on the eastern shore of the Adriatic Sea and is part of the Dalmatian region, which is geologically known as a karst area. This type of coastline is characterized by the following features:

Karst geology: The coast near Ravna Dolina is primarily composed of calcareous rocks, mainly limestone and dolomites, which were formed through sedimentation during the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods (145–200 million years ago). This karst terrain is prone to the development of underground karst phenomena such as caves, sinkholes, and underground rivers.

Indented coastline: The Dalmatian coast, including the Ravna Dolina area, is highly indented, with numerous bays, islets, and peninsulas. This indentation is the result of tectonic movements and the submergence of karst terrain under the sea. Some islands and coastal features were once part of the mainland before being flooded by rising sea levels after the last ice age.

Terraced structure: The coastal zone often features a terraced arrangement, which was created by repeated uplifts and subsidence of the land, combined with erosion and sedimentation. These terraces are visible as natural platforms that rise inland.
