About SideTracked Caches

Kurrajong Station
Kurrajong Station was the terminus station on the Richmond-Kurrajong Railway and operated between 1926 and 1952.

The site consisted of a concrete station building, timber goods shed, concrete-faced platform, run-around loop, goods siding, and a 5-ton hand crane.

After heavy rains in June 1952, a landslide caused the line to close. Due to the expense of repairs and the unprofitability of the railway, the Minister of Railways decided to close the Richmond-Kurrajong Railway permanently.
The Kurrajong Railway Goods Station was transported to the Australiana Pioneer Village (in Wilberforce) after the line closed in 1952. A Prospect Electricity sub-station was built on the former site of Kurrajong Station.
